Procedure for becoming a member of the Rotary Club of Attadale (RCA)

Interested in becoming a Rotarian

Rotary is the world’s oldest and largest service organization and is active in Western Australia with clubs in the metropolitan, rural and regional areas.

The Rotary Club of Attadale (RCA) was inaugurated in 1982 and has been operating very successfully since then by contributing to the community through the Avenues of Service - club, vocational, youth, community and international.

Our Club meets most Monday evenings but not on public holidays or over the Christmas, New Year period.  Attendance requirements are quite relaxed and members are encouraged to attend when able to do so.

To gain most from membership of Rotary, we encourage you to serve on a committee for one of the club’s Avenues of Service, to attend some club fellowship events and to take an active role in service, charity and fundraising work.  Participation in committee work helps you meet obligations of being a member of Rotary can benefits your personal development.

Rotary International has “Service above Self” as a main theme, which guides the activities of the organization.  Rotary provides you with the opportunity to make strong friendships and valuable business connections, as well as being able to be involved with networking activities.  Rotary clubs are committed to making the world a better place by applying their efforts to local and international service projects.

Becoming a Rotarian
  1.  As an initial step you are invited to look at the club website https://www.attadalerotary.com/ where you will find details of when we meet and for contacting the club officers. You will be made most welcome by club members when you attend a meeting.
  2. To find out more about Rotary and to be considered for membership of the Rotary Club of Attadale you will normally need to attend a few of our regular weekly meetings and service or social events that the Club arranges. The RCA membership director, President or other member of the Board will be able to assist you with this process and answer any questions you may have about Rotary and the RCA
  3.  After you decide that you would like to become a Rotarian, as membership is by invitation, you will need to identify a current Club member to be a sponsor for your membership.  The Club membership director can assist you with this process.
  4. You and your sponsor will complete a membership proposal form which will be reviewed by the Board of Directors and then your proposed membership will be circulated to all active club members for confirmation.
·       After this process has been completed you will be advised of the outcome.
  • A formal induction ceremony will be arranged to occur at a club meeting, where you will receive your official welcome to the Club.
  • The Board will appoint an experienced mentor to help you integrate with the club and facilitate your participation in the Club’s activities.  Your mentor will answer any questions you may have and make you welcome as a member of the RCA.
  • The RCA has several social events during the year which will enable you and your partner to establish new friendships and become more involved with the Club’s activities.
  • As a member you will be obliged to pay the annual membership fees.
